01The story
The Gupo-dong landfill (구포동쓰레기매립장) stopped taking waste in 2007. It was restored as a place to rest in the city and an urban forest aiming for carbon neutrality, and opened in March 2023.
Its 12.4 hectares hold over 500,000 trees and flowering plants.
Meaning of the name “Daon” is a native Korean word meaning “all good things come.”
